Position Summary
The Strategic Finance and Business Operations team works closely with the executive team on high priority initiatives for Expanse. The team is Expanse’s champion for intelligent growth & operational alignment. Our mandate includes the project management of executive priorities, the delivery of financial predictability and control, the maintenance of business accountability, and the generation of insights to optimize decisions and resources. Our team includes former PE, investment banking, and high-growth startup professionals (ex-TPG, Silver Lake, Greenhill, Barclays, Dropbox).
As a part of the Strategic Finance and Business Operations team, you will play a key role in how we function, helping us identify and solve key business issues across the Company. The role requires strong project management, analytical, and collaborative skills. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you will work closely with all functions and leadership. Responsibilities are flexible to accommodate a broad range of professional experience levels. As new positions are created throughout the company, team members will have the opportunity to take on new roles.
What You’ll Do
Gain exposure to all aspects of building and growing the business
Execute assignments end-to-end, including project scoping and management, data collection, integration, preparation, analysis, and reporting
Collaborate cross-functionally to manage, model and execute projects and support strategic decisions and initiatives
Identify and manage key business operations metrics and build dashboards to track progress across functions
Perform analytical deep-dives to generate insights and solve business issues
Projects include new market / international expansion prospecting, company budgeting, product pricing and packaging, fundraising, maintaining the operating model, and cross-functional project management
About You
Experience in investment banking, management consulting, or business operations at high-growth company
Computer Science background or other technical / quantitative orientation a plus
Strong analytical skills with the ability to build complex financial models and make recommendations
Strong financial systems and application skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, business intelligence tools)
Experience with Adaptive Insights, and/or Domo a plus
Exceptional attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Maturity to self-direct, manage up / down / cross-functionally, and represent externally
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Entrepreneurial spirit
Impatience / sense of urgency, drive to build things, and a sense of humor
