What you'll be doing

Working closely with other teams within Discord to improve their workflows using React, Javascript, Python, Go, and Bash.

Improving our existing deployment system or building one from the ground up

Leveling up our Trust & Safety and CX teams by adding features into our internal web app.

Investigating, analyzing, and stopping spam, fraud, and other abuse on Discord by building tools and working with a real-time processing system to sort through millions of events a day to identify and block bad activity.

Streamlining local development environments with automation and Docker

Automate all of the things!

What you should have

4+ years of relevant experience.

Experience with CI and deployment technologies like Jenkins, TeamCity, Spinnaker, Docker, docker-compose, Kubernetes, and Mesos.

Comfort and confidence working on a variety of tasks ranging from backend infrastructure and systems programming to full stack projects.

A passion for building tools that help others succeed.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Ability to context switch and focus on small and large problems.

Bonus Points

Experience with building web tools for customer support teams.

Experience with devops tools like Salt or Chef and cloud providers like Google Cloud Platform or AWS.

You have built open source software integrated by other developers.
