Business Operations Associate at Discord

Discord is looking for a Business Operation Associate - someone who can join the operations team and work closely with the analytics and data teams to use numbers to help analyze and strategize programs and plans and make sure the team is doing the right things in the right places. In addition to strategic planning, Business Operations also collaborates across the Discord organization to identify and solve workflow inefficiencies to improve team performance.

What you'll be doing

Act as a strategic consultant to assist the Business Development and Partnerships teams with setting quarterly goals and KPIs

Build suite of aggregate performance dashboards for review on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis with executive, marketing, and BD teams

Create tools and visualizations to help team track performance targets and make recommendations to achieve or adjust targets as necessary

Tackle open-ended projects and coordinate cross-functionally to drive them to completion

Work with BD and Partnerships teams to translate Product and Store Operations priorities into actionable strategic recommendations

Coordinate with data and analytics to structure experiments, visualize, and analyze results, and drive learning

Analysis of market and brand/competitor performance, as well as contract performance

Work directly with Business Development and Partnerships Leadership to create quarterly progress review presentations detailing aggregate department performance

Identify, propose, and implement solutions to improve overall team efficiency via tools or process improvements

What you should have

Candidates should be local (San Francisco Bay Area) or be willing to relocate

2-5 years of experience in consulting, business development, or sales operations

Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills

Fluency in Excel required, SQL knowledge not required but is a bonus

Experience with Chartio or similar business intelligence tools

Advanced knowledge of data analysis and ability to translate data insights into shared learnings

Ability to work with analytic and data engineering teams to uncover data-driven insights and lead teams to optimal workflow outcomes

Flexible - Make elevation changes from high-level thinking to front-line execution regularly and easily

Team Player - Teamwork, leadership, very good interpersonal and communication skills, unafraid to raise hand and ask for help or clarity when needed

Hyper-organized - There will be large amounts of documentation, both existing and newly developed processes you will need to manage
