Technical Program Manager at Fandom

About your role:

We’re looking for a Program Manager to focus on Product Operations at Fandom. We want a creative problem solver and a great communicator that understands the needs of a fast-paced product organization. In this role you will be organizing projects and activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization. You will act as a coordinator for the Product Management department, ensuring projects are delivered on time and project goals align with the high level product vision and company objectives.

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Collaborate with product leadership to evolve our process and tools, including communication structures, repeatable processes, and meeting cadences
  • Manage the portfolio of projects across the Product organization, supporting Product Managers in coordinating time and resources
    • Understand relative priority of all projects as related to company goals and objectives
    • Manage the project pipeline and understand how shifts affect teams or projects in flight
    • Identify and predict obstacles, collisions and risk to projects across multiple teams and seek solutions to eliminate them
    • Regularly examine resource assignments, identify when changes are needed and make recommendations for shifts
    • Provide up-to-date visibility into current projects and team utilization and availability  
  • Ensure timely deliverables across teams and departments and support in cross-team and interdepartmental communications
  • Identify and implement processes that should be shared across teams, and identify where deviations between teams are positive or expected
  • Responsible for ongoing improvement in project management
  • Ensure pertinent information is communicated and understood by stakeholders and leadership
  • Uphold standards and best practices, ensure the product process and tools are applied
  • Collaborate with product and engineering leadership on team member on-boarding and education programs
  • Maintain JIRA projects, workflows, permissions, and users while working in a JIRA 6.x & 7.x environment. (creation of new Projects, Workflows, Views, etc.)
  • Work with JIRA filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and JIRA administration
  • Assessment of business requirements in terms of the implementation of tasks in JIRA

You are…

  • 4+ years of project management / program management in a product organization
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on schedule
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment
  • Interest in solving challenges for a rapidly growing business
  • Familiar with Jira, project management methodologies, KPIs, OKRs, SLAs
  • Passionate and enthusiastic about excellence and attention to detail
  • Comfortable with ambiguity in a fluid organization
  • Grace, with a cool, collected demeanor in the face of complex organization

Bonus points if you... 

  • Engineering background
  • Working with Jira Cloud as administrator role (min. 1 year)
  • Creating projects, workflows and schemes in JIRA
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Experience with highly engaged, scaled consumer products
  • Being a true entertainment (games, tv, and/or movies) fan
