Video Social Strategist at POPSUGAR

POPSUGAR is looking for a video social strategist to guide the growth of our Instagram Stories accounts. The position will use data to help inform creative decisions and grow audience. A knowledge of the Instagram Stories platform is key. You will be responsible for crafting thoughtful weekly metrics reports and competitive studies to help guide the team on what kind of content to create. You will also help create content for our channels. Our ideal candidate will use both sides of the brain equally and understand that great social content requires both art and science. This position is based in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide regular platform metrics and competitive analysis to develop audience growth strategy for POPSUGAR’s Stories accounts 
  • Help guide content team with the best strategies for creating content audiences are responding to based on deep audience insights and platform research; help brainstorm topics and tentpoles and pitch clever stories to producers
  • Own and evolve metrics reporting process and templates, including KPI tracking, creative analysis, trend research, and competitive analysis
  • Craft custom insights for our Sales team and our internal creative agency to pitch POPSUGAR to brand partners 
  • Own influencer research and outreach process to ideate and manage meaningful partnerships that will boost views and engagement; track performance and make recommendations for improvement
  • Create content alongside producers that plays forward our best practices 
  • Assist Audience group on other special projects and deep dive reports, as needed
 
Qualifications:
 
  • 3+ years of hands-on relevant experience on social content, ideally with a focus on Stories products
  • Sophisticated understanding of all online social video platforms and the formats that work on each. You will specifically be working in Instagram Stories, but a knowledge of other platforms like Snapchat and TikTok is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and an enthusiasm for experimenting with content and strategy to optimize for key metrics
  • Strong editorial judgment and knack for finding “what’s trending” in Women’s Lifestyle – particularly Beauty and Wellness
  • Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills
  • Can handle a high volume of work under tight deadlines
