As an Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for creating the next generation suite of log management applications and work with Sumo Logic customers both in a pre and post sales capacity. You will be responsible developing dashboards, queries, and parsers based on logs from a wide variety of technologies such as cloud platforms, operating systems, network devices, and applications. As part of this role, you will work and interface with several groups within the company (product management, product engineering, customer service, sales engineering) as well as customers.
Research the collection, parsing, and analysis of log data from various devices and services such as security monitoring, databases, cloud services, operating systems and custom applications.
Design & develop default content such as parsers, Dashboards, and searches for the Sumo Logic Service.
Package and build content into Sumo Logic provided applications.
Manage the application development lifecycle from requirements through development, to QA and public release.
Work closely with product management and engineering teams to improve overall customer experience and product quality.
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
3+ years hands-on experience working with a variety of enterprise software infrastructure (operating systems, virtualization, database, network, security) products in production environments.
Experience with some of the following: major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Bluemix, Oracle Cloud Platform), automation frameworks (Puppet/Chef), Hadoop, Docker, NoSQL databases, server virtualization.
Experience in full development life cycle, system operations or, ideally, DevOps.
Experience developing content with an enterprise log management product.
Ability to write complex regular expressions or SQL queries.
Experience writing scripts in at least one of the following languages: Python, Ruby, Unix shells
Experience inspecting and deciphering log messages.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
