Pop Up Editor, Sales Associate at Glossier

A Glossier Pop Up Editor, Sales Associate is more than a salesperson. You are the host to Glossier’s in-real-life experience in our temporary London location. We are looking for someone who can create a special environment in the retail space, who can be a customer’s friend that gives the best advice on how, when and why to use Glossier products. You will play a crucial part in facilitating a unique customer experience. You are a representative of our company who must embody our values, have a relatable and inviting attitude, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Full-time or part-time 

Start date: November 2019

Duration: 7-8 weeks (this is a temporary position)

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and introduce them to the Glossier experience
  • Engage with customers at every touch point with a friendly and thoughtful approach
  • Be a Glossier expert; share product knowledge and personal testimony while facilitating an experience that is curated to each customer
  • Help customers choose the right products for them
  • Find solutions to customers’ problems, always with the customers’ experience in mind
  • Check out customers and ensure they receive their orders, while facilitating a non-transactional environment
  • Organize and maintain the flow of customer traffic inside and outside the store to ensure a well-coordinated operation
  • Clean and organize the pop-up to support the overall operation 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Impeccable hospitality and customer service skills; can routinely identify customers’ needs and tailor the customers’ experiences accordingly
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally, patiently and effectively with customers, employees and leadership
  • Can consistently exhibit a demeanor that matches our customer service expectations--proactive, approachable, positive and engaging. Can act like a friend to a customer, providing great advice on our products, and ensure customers feel welcome to ask questions
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, high traffic environment
  • Can navigate difficult or ambiguous situations, always with a positive approach
  • Can consistently be a team player with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
  • Ability to work 3-5 days a week, including weekends and throughout the holiday season, starting in mid November, for 7-8 weeks
  • Can maintain regular attendance in order to meet the responsibilities of the role
  • Can count cash and balance funds in a cash register
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 6-8 hours a shift in a retail environment
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store, including sales floor and stock areas, by standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing a ladder or step stool
  • Ability to fully engage with customers, including applying products to customers’ faces, sharing product knowledge, and creating positive shopping experiences unique to the customers’ individual needs
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (22.7 kg) at any given time; ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (11.3 kg)
  • Computer and technology proficient
  • Comfortable working in an environment that is frequently photographed and recorded
  • Resides in a commutable distance from the job location

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high volume, customer-facing retail or hospitality role
  • Experience in high-energy performative roles
  • Passion for the Glossier mission and products, as well as understanding of the Glossier aesthetic and visual language
