Job Description

Uber's Marketplace Engineering team creates the technology behind our ridesharing marketplace by connecting riders with drivers at the push of a button. Our solutions expand user access, deliver reliability, and provide more transportation choices to users across our global markets.

About the Role

The Product Intelligence team builds high-quality datasets, metrics, ML features, and data tools.

As the manager of the Marketplace Tools Team, you will directly impact the day-to-day work of tens of thousands of internal users such as operation managers, customer support agents, data scientists, engineers, and executives. The teams products include data visualization and customer experience debugging tools with many daily active users and power thousands of key business dashboards and decision making flows.

What You'll Do

  • Lead front-end and full-stack engineers that are deeply integrated with product data teams building the health and diagnostics tools for all of Uber's Marketplace;
  • Lead engineers and be the key to connect hundreds of Petabyte-level data sources to actual business use cases;
  • Create a roadmap and vision with product partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience
  • Experience leading full stack teams as a tech lead or manager

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building data visualization products
  • Experience developing UI with JavaScript development frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue, Bootstrap, etc)
  • Experience working with streaming and data technologies like Spark, Flink, Samza, and Hive
  • Experience working closely with PMs and non-technical stakeholders
