About Grammarly

Grammarly’s digital writing assistant helps more than 20 million people write more clearly and effectively every day. In building a product that scales across multiple platforms and devices, Grammarly works to empower users whenever and wherever they communicate.

Job Description

Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Teams will meet in person every quarter in one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of their direct team.

Grammarly team members who will be collaborating at our San Francisco hub must be based in the United States.

The opportunity

Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. Every day, 30 million people and 30,000 teams around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a People Program Manager to join our People Operations team. The People Program Manager will be the driving force behind Grammarly’s major, critical, cross-functional, and global programs for team members. They will apply knowledge in HR, performance reviews, and employee engagement to complement their strong program design, execution skills, and continual iteration and improvement to deliver team member experiences that help achieve business goals. The People Program Manager will own and support various initiatives. To be successful, this person must be comfortable developing programs, managing timelines and responsibilities, and prioritizing multiple projects with many stakeholders. This is a global role and will include leadership as its stakeholders.

Your impact

As People Program Manager, you will stand up a process and structure that scales while collaborating globally and at times cross-functionally. You will harness your previous People experience to inform your point-of-view in areas including performance management, engagement, and quarterly OKR planning. You will partner closely with the entire People team as well as other functions and will touch all of our critical People programs, allowing breadth and depth of learning opportunities. Our standard is operational efficiency and excellence, and your role will support investments to scale outstanding People operations, including training and development for team members, systems, and technology.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the biannual performance review process, including score calibrations, promotions, and compensations, as well as project managing the reviews from preparation and execution through evaluation.
  • Support various surveys by project managing the survey questions, internal communications, and analyzing and sharing results.
  • Support quarterly OKR and headcount planning processes, including coordinating the schedule with the Operating team, coordinating with Finance and Recruiting, and managing communications to managers.
  • Drive the identification of, and reporting on, key metrics of the People Programs.
  • Identify iteration for continual program improvements.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Has the ability to understand both the big picture and smaller components of a process to effectively and efficiently get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Consistently achieves results, even under tough circumstances, by taking on challenges with urgency and enthusiasm.
  • Builds partnerships and works collaboratively to meet shared objectives.
  • Has experience defining new programs to meet strategic business needs, driving stakeholder support, and defining evaluation.
  • Has deep understanding and experience with the employee-review process.
  • Has experience setting up and owning structures to orchestrate output, accountability, continual improvement and optimization (first principles approach).
  • Has the ability to break down global, cross-functional initiatives into objectives, requirements, work streams, planning, and budgets to successfully deliver results.
